Fantl Sport

I have been following Fantl Sport for a few years now as a cool NZ brand that has been creating golf wear that brings street fashion to the course. I love the aesthetic that they bring to the course and have followed them on instagram for a long time enjoying the art that they bring to their content. I have always wanted to get a piece for myself but have not had the funds to do so as they are on the more expensive side compared to some more ‘well known’ brands. This is completely just as they create quality, timeless pieces that show a bit of a more luxury side to golf & sportswear.
As a brand at Golfer’s Collective, we see it as our mission to show off the awesome brands that are designed and built within New Zealand. I think the golf industry tends to be over run with brands from the USA and UK, but NZers are creating great things that should be given so much credit.
A bit about Fantl Sport from an excerpt on their website
“For us, this is about breaking the barriers of athletic and everyday wear. It’s about function over fashion. Revitalising style and longevity in classic sports. It’s not about adding more but adding less, creating clothes that are versatile and can go with anything - making it simpler for Men (and Women) to dress. Meeting at the intersection of art, design, athletics and culture. Ultimately Fantl Sport is about inspiring people to move, bringing people together, growing not only the game of golf, but all sports, while inspiring us to live our best lives imaginable”. I managed to get my hands on the Masters Monday Polo and Hoodie as well as The Peter Pant all original by Fantl Sport. I was lucky enough to find their 50% off everything sale which brought these items into a place where I felt I could splash out and get a few things at once.
The packaging had a nice logo and was biodegradable which was a plus
With nice sustainable packaging, all three items came in the one bag and they also included a few Fantl sport tees which was a nice touch.
I went true to size with all 3 items, medium, and found the fit to be perfect.
The polo fit nicely with a slightly slimmer fit, the material is a 100% cotton ultra premium pique knit and has a slightly stretchy and breathable feel while still looking and feeling like premium material, I didn’t feel like it made me sweat and also was very free to swing in despite the slightly slimmer fit. If I could change anything I would perhaps make it slightly shorter to sit a little higher on the waist, but I understand it is likely made this way to fit tucked in.
The hoodie is the perfect shape, relaxed, boxy and slightly cropped made of 80% cotton 20% recycled polyester fleece it is really warm and looks great. I will probably likely keep this to just wear casually off the golf course, but who knows, it worked on the golf course this time!
The Peter Pant is the item I was most intrigued about. I have been looking around for the perfect golf pant, not too slim, comfortable and able to swing in with a nice style. These fit the bill great. They are a super lightweight material made of Nylon/elastane durable ripstop blend, they have a relaxed fit and the golf tee loops are a cool innovative design although I did find the tee fell out a few times, not a biggie. Overall these pants are exactly what I was after and will become the base to just about every golf outfit I put together.
It feels great to see a NZ golf brand creating their own style and bringing a new look to the fairways. I’ll definitely be looking out for their new drops and seeing what else I can get my hands on. Check these guys out and show your support to a cool NZ brand.
